Sammy Farkas

Sammy began sailing at age eight through the Bellingham Yacht Club youth program and has been on the water ever since. She raced Optis and Lasers with the Seattle yacht club junior team for many years and competed with the Sehome High School sailing team. Now entering her junior year at UW, she’s also beginning her third year with the Husky Sailing Team.

In addition to racing, Sammy has extensive coaching experience. She has coached the middle school race team in Bellingham, helped lead several high-performance dinghy clinics in the Northwest, and currently runs the Opti Green Fleet program at the Seattle Yacht Club. Sammy is studying mechanical engineering and plans to pursue a career in marine engineering.
