Derek Bottles

Derek was team co-captain during the 1990-91 season his Sr. year. Since graduating, he held committee positions at the Seattle Yacht Club and officer roles with the Seattle Laser Fleet. Derek continues to sail competitively, most recently finishing 2nd at the 2019 RS Aero 9 Worlds, Melbourne, Australia. Outside of sailing Derek is a VP and officer at AvalonBay Communities. He passionately believes his experiences in college sailing continue to help him in all aspects of life.
